Bastard sword - screen printed patch

This sword is inspired by a bastard sword that has been in my possession since a couple of years. It's a Spanish blade, forged in the city of Toledo that has been a sword-making center since ancient times. The term “bastard” derives from the function of the sword that allows the fighter to use it single handed, but also has a hilt that is long enough to be supported by the fighter's second hand. It's longer than an usual sword, but smaller than a “Zweihänder” that is designed to be used with both hands only. The sword is printed in silver to resemble the metallic appearance of an actual sword.

ca. 32 x 11 cm. This patch is designed and screen printed by myself in my home studio. Each patch is printed and cut individually by hand. The colours I use are eco friendly water based screen printing inks, the fabric is black cotton canvas.

IMPORTANT INFO: After they're sewn on the patches are machine-washable at 40°C. To avoid fraying please make sure to fold the edge inward with an iron prior to sewing it on and use stitches that go around the edge (like buttonhole stitches) rather than stitching parallel to the edge.
