Screen printed patch "Crown of Thorns", silver ink on black canvas
Thorns are an ancient symbol denoting sin, sorrow, pain and hardship. In its most popular shape - the Crown of Thorns - it stands for the Humiliation of Jesus by the Romans and has become an emblem of the Passion of Christ. In a more general interpretation the Crown of Thorns symbolizes the suffering and misery someone has to go through in their life.
ca. 11 x 11 cm. This patch is designed and screen printed by myself in my home. Each patch is printed and cut individually by hand. The colours I use are eco friendly water based screen printing inks, the fabric is black canvas.
IMPORTANT INFO: After they're sewn on the patches are machine-washable at 40°C. To avoid fraying please make sure to fold the edge inward with an iron prior to sewing it on and use stitches that go around the edge (like buttonhole stitches) rather than stitching parallel to the edge.
