Roughly translated to "mountain solitude", Bergeinsamkeit describes a feeling of absolute tranquility and of surrendering to the primeval beauty of nature. Being far away of everything that distracts the mind, one starts to come closer to comprehending the essence of being. Material things, social status and everything that matters in a modern society, signifies nothing when facing the vastness and majesty of the monumental mountainside. This illustration is based on a photograph I took in the Swiss Alps, near Maloja, a place perfectly suited to feel "Bergeinsamkeit".
