Fine Art print "Die Sünde" - "The Sin"
Inspired by Franz von Stuck's painting of the same title, this illustration depicts a woman holding a snake - an obvious reference to Eve and the serpent and thus a reference to the Original Sin and the Fall of Man. Throughout the history of Christianity and the history of European art, Eve has been the personalization of what the clergymen would call the 'evil nature' of women. She was the one to seduce Adam to taste the forbidden fruit and therefore the cause of the separation of humankind from their creator and the Realm of the Heavens.
