Fine Art Print 'Odyssey'

With his “Odyssey” Homer didn't only write one of the most important works of world literature, he also gave us a tragic metaphor for the course of a person's life and the many hardships it brings until they find their way and get to the place they are searching for and are meant to be. Odysseus experiences many challenges and hardships during his travels, he even ultimately loses all his fellow mates, but in the end the miserable, wretched wanderer still achieves to get back to the place he was longing for. This illustration wants to evoke the desolate atmosphere of the lone sailor who is on the merciless sea all by himself on a ship that lost its complete crew due to the many difficulties and calamities they faced on their travels. Even though the dreary scene is framed by the skulls of Odysseu's mates and he is completely abandoned, the viewer still knows that the protagonist will be able to reach his goal in the end.
